The Farm School

International Rural Exchange

IRE offers an outbound program for Canadians wishing to go overseas as well as an inbound program for those wishing to experience farming in Canada.

Assiniboine Community College (Brandon): Organic Inspector Distance Ed Course - This certificate program offers professional development skills training to organic farm and processing facility inspectors or evaluators of organic certifying bodies.

Nova Scotia Agricultural College: Certificate of Specialization in Organic Agriculture - Distance Education must complete four of the eligible courses to receive certificate: Transition to Organic Agriculture, Composting and Compost Use, Principles of Organic Horticulture, Organic Field Crops Management, Organic Livestock Production

University of Guelph: Bachelor of Science with Major in Organic Agriculture - an experiential program that emphasizes contact with organic entrepreneurs, development of independent analytical and decision making skills, and problem solving in a real world setting.

Cornell University (Ithaca New York): Organic Agriculture - forward thinking university with a lot of organic research being accomplished

Agroecos: Master in European Agroecology (Takes place in four European Countries) - The European Master Agroecology is a two-year program, professionally oriented, to study interactions among agricultural, food and environmental sciences in a socially oriented and action driven perspective.

Emerson College (East Sussex, England): Biodynamic/Organic Agriculture Diploma
- two year practical diploma program at a Rudolf Steiner college with 6 month farm practicum included in study.
