Manitoba Farm Mentorship encourages small-scale farming as a career choice, connecting people, land, and local knowledge to increase food security in this province. We focus our networking, mentorship, and training support on new and aspiring producers who have an interest in sustainable farming for local markets.
Upcoming Events
Interns Wanted! - Spend this summer on a sustainable farm with one of our mentors
Networking - Connecting you to people
We help you connect with other farmers who are leading the way in sustainable farming in Manitoba. Working with government, universities, non-profit organizations, and other partners, we establish relationships to increase the resources available for small-scale farmers. Attend a Small Farmer Get Together, get our E-Newsletter, or look into our Farm Tours.
Mentorship - Connecting you to land
If you are looking for a unique mentorship opportunity, you're in the right place. We are the only provincial program dedicated to placing our interns with mentor farmers who are using sustainable, natural, and/or organic methods. Many of our mentors have tapped into direct markets through Community Shared Agriculture (CSAs), local buying clubs, and farmers' markets. Learn more about our mentorship program.
Training - Connecting you to local knowledge
Our training events include opportunities for farmers at all levels of experience. Tapping into a wealth of local knowledge, we offer you specialized expertise to help you, whether your farm business is still a dream or has been operating for decades. Take the Exploring Your Small Farm Dream course, a workshop, or apply for grants for your business training.
